Combining Attribution and RewritingAnthony M SloaneAttribute grammars and term rewriting systems have proven to be useful high-level specification paradigms for developing program generators. Attribute grammars excel at defining analyses over static tree structures, whereas term rewriting systems are designed for transformation of structures. This talk will explore ways in which specifications of analyses and transformation in these paradigms may be usefully combined.
