Talk on January 30th, 2008SpeakersKaren Wu and Roumen KaiabachevAbstractMeasurement While Drilling (MWD) tools used in Oilfield Services are pieces of high-temp and high-vibration resistant electronics running complex resource-aware embedded software. Portions of the software are soft and hard real-time constrained. In this talk, we overview the system architecture of two important MWD tools, present the functionality of their embedded software, and discuss techniques currently applied to ensure software correctness.
